Promoting Your Video |
So you have a video... now what?
Nothing comes close to the effectiveness and persuasion power of a well designed video message. But, this doesn't mean that throwing a 10-min video tutorial on your site will drive more traffic or that you will automatically start selling more products. There is much more to effective video marketing than just slamming video content on your web site. Below are three tips you can use to get the most from your video.
1. Say it LOUD and say it PROUD
Where you place your video on your web site, will have a huge impact on whether it ever gets seen. The average attention span of a web user today is measured in seconds. An invitation to view your video should be prominently displayed, and given plenty of screen real estate on your landing page. It is pointless to create a high impact video if you are going to tuck it away on a subpage, or hide it in some obscure corner of the screen.
2. Make it obvious
A typical web page is very image rich. So how will the casual browser,
quickly scanning your content in a matter of seconds, going to
know if you have a video for them, or if its just an image? You
also want to let them know it is a short video that will not take
up much of their time. Try calling it out with something like, "Watch
Our 2-Minute Video Here!"
3. Make your video enjoyable
Once you finally have your captive audience, you want to make sure
they are entertained so that they continue to listen to your message.
A minute of internet video can feel like an eternity if there is
nothing to engage the viewer. An effective introduction and catchy
graphics throughout can go a long way to making sure your message
is heard, and even better, remembered!
